OPEN CAST CALL NO EXPERIENCE needed, a willingness to play and have fun IS. Families, Friends, Actors, Musicians, Singers, and individuals are welcome to attend the Open Cast Call for the Louisiana Renaissance Festival, on Saturday March 13th. Everyone with an interest in becoming a part of the festival cast is welcome to attend.
Join the cast and strengthen your acting skills through free monthly workshops. Arrive by 9:45 AM on Saturday March 13th, at the renfest (46468 River Road, Hammond LA 70401). Auditions start at 10:00, lunch break is at noon; the first workshop will be from 1:00 to 4:00pm. Be prepared to give a 1-3 minute monologue, song, poem, or joke (your choice) and to have some fun playing improv-games. www.LARF.org This is activity is a great bonding experience for families, and a definite skills builder for experienced actors.

The Villagers of Albright are waiting to make you part of their celebration! Featuring seven stages, 100 merchants and a cast and crew of more than 300 people putting on one of the best events in Louisiana. We are the most unique themed festival in Louisiana, and we have something for everyone!

TO BECOME A 2010 FEATURED ACT: Like all RenFests LARF provides a wide variety of entertainment. Every year we provide our fans with: over 100 merchants, a Joust, Falconry, over a dozen stage shows, a few dozen street and local entertainers. The shows at LARF are a diversity of styles and genres. Maintaining the diversity and quality of our shows is a complex process. To help us provide the best show possible for our fans we ask professional entertainers to give us a glimpse of their show. Please provide us an opportunity to see part of your show either live or recorded (DVD, website, youtube, facebook, myspace, VHS, etc). Video of your show should be: at least five minutes long, of an actual show. Louisiana Renaissance Festival is a mini-vacation or a "Holiday." Step back in time and experience a little interactive theater. You can see a real joust, feel free to cheer or boo the Knight of your choosing. Meet Queen Elizabeth the first. Watch dozens of live shows including musical, juggling, comedy, and feats of skill. There are authentic demonstrations and over a hundred merchants to fill your holiday shopping needs.
The fun begins on the first Saturday of November and is open every weekend through Dec 13th, and the Friday after Thanksgiving.

From royalty to peasants and even skilled craftsmen you are sure to enjoy the pastimes of the Renaissance. In addition there are several stage acts from swordsmen to jugglers including a full contact joust and birds of prey.
The Renaissance is also known for entertainment and events such as: Shakespeare, juggling, fire eating, magicians, sword-fighting duels, birds of prey, and jousting.
The Louisiana Renaissance Festival is a very educational experience. Learn about history, everyday life and the social structure of the European Renaissance.
